Bipolar Disorder: between euphoria and darkness
Mental health is one of the most urgent topics of our time, and humor is a lens through which we can reflect, empathize, and demystify
Bipolar disorder, characterized by extreme emotional swings between mania and depression, is both invisible and profoundly real — a perfect metaphor for art that oscillates between lightness and gravity
Conditions:
-Open to artists worldwide (18+), amateur or professional
-Only unpublished works may be submitted; previous awarded works not allowed until closing date
-Each participant may submit 1 work per category among four modalities
Cartoon – Theme: Bipolarity
Caricature – Theme: Bipolar Disturb (vertical portrait of a historical celebrity)
Editorial Cartoon (Charge) – Theme: Public Figures
Comic Strip – Theme: Bipolarity (text in Portuguese, English, or wordless; 1 page max.)
-Size: A4 (21×30 cm), JPEG, 300 DPI
-Technique: Free (traditional or digital)
-Printed A4 works accepted
-AI-generated artworks not allowed
-Works must be original and unpublished
-Exhibition: March 30 – April 15, 2026
-Ownership & Rights All submitted works (awarded or not) become part of Capivara Humor Collection / Instituto Ocellaris
-They may be exhibited in traveling shows, published in print, digital, or audiovisual media
-Participation implies full agreement with the regulation
-By registering, the author assigns full copyright of submitted work(s) under Brazilian Copyright Law No. 9610/1988, permanently and universally
-Rights relate only to the awarded works for cultural and promotional purposes
Prizes:
Total prizes: R$ 12,000 (Brazilian reais)

-Certificates for 3 honorable mentions per category
-Only one award per author per category.
Jury may allocate or transfer prizes among categories or create a special prize
