STATEMENT FROM IDEAL EDUCATION FOUNDATION!!!
“The Test of the Ummah” About the Results of the International Cartoon Competition: Organised by the Ideal Education Foundation:
Cartoon selections were made online in a transparent environment and with a fair scoring method. The works selected by at least two juries in the preliminary selection became finalists. The finalists were numbered in order not to influence the juries. The cartoons were ranked by adding the scores given by three juries. The resulting score table was shared with the juries and approved.
Then the names and countries of the cartoonists were added and publicised. After the results were announced, Fadi Abou Hassan objected to the results on the grounds that there was more than one Iranian artist in the top 10. He said that he had a problem with Iran, that he did not want to stand in the same place with them, that they were hypocrites and other heavy accusations. We told him that votes should be given to the work of art, not to the country or the artist.. And we have been fair. We will never give up our principles of justice.
Therefore, this objection, which is contrary to our principles, is not accepted and the competition remains valid at the highest level.
Congratulations to the winners of the competition.
(Iran was the country with the highest number of applicants with 150 works by 58 artists. Turkey came second with 90 works by 37 artists).
