Cartoon: Fake News and the Distorted Truth
-Artists from Panama and around the world are invited to explore the global debate around fake news — false or misleading information that is often spread intentionally to manipulate public opinion, misinform audiences, or cause confusion. These may be presented in the form of articles, images, videos, or audio recordings, and are frequently circulated through social media and digital platforms.
-Types of Fake News
- Disinformation – Incorrect information shared without malicious intent
- Misinformation – False data shared by mistake
- Malinformation – True information that is manipulated or taken out of context to mislead
