Abbas Naaseri / When we look around ourselves and among our colleagues, or in private conversations, everyone is aware of the problems of cartooning. They are familiar with the details of the issues and know the causes and culprits; but only in private groups.
However outside, their voices are not raised. They either have reservations, fear the power mafia, or remain silent in hope of achieving success within this mafia in the future.
Such individuals perceive themselves as being in a much lower position compared to the organizers and owners of events, as their inner world is devoid of a sense of worth regarding the pure art of cartooning and caricature. Therefore, they never approve of or admiration themselves and do not devote any affection or attention to themselves. Due to this incorrect behavior towards themselves, they suffer from a lack of self-confidence, often remaining silent or even taking steps to endorse grievances and injustices, hoping to receive appreciation and the label of a reputable artist in exchange for their self-sacrifice and service.
But can the validations they receive truly alleviate their pain, that of the world, and that of cartooning?!
Cartoonists, by enduring these issues and remaining silent, behave unkindly to themselves. Those in power increase their insolence every day. By our silence, we plunge into darkness, and the price is not only paid by us but also by cartoon. Cartooning drifts further away from its mission every day, while cartoonists experience a decline.
There is no magical savior outside; we are our saviors. We need to transform those mental structures that expect a savior for cartooning and cartoonists into actionable activities and start moving. As long as we look for someone to accept what we hold in our minds, there will be no result.
Love becomes meaningful with faith; we love cartooning and believe in our art. We find the right path when we fill our inner world with love for ourselves, cartooning, and other human beings in the world.
Humans generally walk towards light after going through darkness. Let us set aside Compliments, friendships, and giving ransom and … for the benefit of cartooning, ourselves, the world, and step forward with trust in God.
“CGV”, is a foundation for cartoonists of the global village, with the slogan “For the benefit of the world, for the benefit of cartooning,” which comes to life with mutual help. It will strive to bring peace to cartooning and after that to the world.
In the end; we are our only saviors.
